Skip distance (first leg)

For a refracted shear beam, the skip distance on the inspection surface is often written as skip = t × tan θ, where t is thickness and θ is the refracted angle in the part.

Verify refracted angle with the probe wedge and velocity ratio; this is a geometry aid only.
