Skin depth (standard)

Skin depth δ characterises how quickly eddy currents decay into a conductor. The classical approximation is δ = √(2 / (ωμσ)), with angular frequency ω, permeability μ, and conductivity σ.

Enter frequency in Hz and material properties in SI units. This is a simplified model; surface roughness, lift-off, and probe geometry dominate real ET responses.
